BIG. APPLE. HERE. WE. COME.

Hello, readers!

I’ve missed you, and I hope you’ve missed me. As an apology for not releasing a podcast this week, I’m possibly travel blogging about my trip to NY. I don’t want to make any promises I can’t keep, but I do know that I love keeping a travel journal and maybe I can skip the pen & paper this time.

Ralph and I haven’t traveled out of state, just the two of us, since 2020. He’s the first partner that I’ve ever traveled really well with and I’m excited to experience NY with him. In Erika fashion, I’m going to keep it super real with y’all and tell you that my period arrived this morning after I pleaded with her for days to come early. This is my first year actually tracking my period (in my 34 years on the planet) and I’ve decided to never plan a trip anywhere near my period again – unless I have absolutely no choice. I will get through this!

We’re taking a red-eye flight because I like to get the absolute most out of my vacations, and I’d rather fly when I would usually be sleeping. Ralph made dinner reservations at Planta Queen (a vegan restaurant), followed by a show at the Belasco Theater (Good Night, Oscar starring Sean Hayes) on Thursday night. I don’t know if any of you listen to Smartless (it’s a podcast), but it’s great. Sean Hayes. Jason Bateman. Will Arnett. Interviewing a surprise celebrity guest every week. They’re not paying me to plug them. I’m sure they read my blog, though. And will appreciate my mentioning them. Hey, fellas! You’re doing a great job.

Ralph recently got the Tonal workout machine and he’s been getting SLICED. Is that a thing that people say? What I mean is that he’s building lots of muscle. I asked him if he wanted to watch the last episode of Beef before heading to the airport and he said he was gonna “get a quick workout in.” Cool cool cool. Just gonna sit here with rollers in my hair, shedding uterine lining, and not moving until I absolutely have to.

I’m wearing a comfy outfit. I’m drinking warm water. My out of office response is on. Way too many movies are in my download queue on Netflix. I see an airport cocktail in my future. I’m manifesting a free upgrade to first class. I’m remembering that I need to pack my neck pillow. I’m signing off. Until tomorrow – maybe! 🙂
